Worthy of Rotation! Dec 19, 2006
By Rampaige These cords are a quick, simple and eay way to squeeze fitness into your daily routine. The workout is 30 mins with simple cardio, strength training and cool down.
Be forewarned that the cords are at first, awkward to use, especially with the leg exercises. They may seem short or not as pliable but that changes the more you use them. They also work best with running shoes because there's an arch that keeps it from sliding...I tried the routine in some flat pumas and practically smacked myself in the face because the cords couldn't find a grip.
Tina's coaching is clear and easy....and the entire routine is done to the mirror image...so you just go wherever she does... this DVD would def work well while traveling... this routine wont get you profusely sweating but is still a great buy nonetheless...

Great workout for CHEAP! Jan 31, 2008
By C. Britt Granted, I've only used this cord/DVD once, but I loved it! The workout is kind of fun, but you can really feel it working your muscles. It didn't get my heart rate up much, but I was sweating, so I definitely felt like I was working. I expected this to be somewhat boring and something I would only want to do a few times, but I can see myself doing it often when I don't feel like doing a hardcore cardio workout. I started with a light resistance cord (pink) because I'm just getting back into working out, but depending on your level, they also have medium resistance (green) and heavy (purple) as well.
This workout includes lunges, arm work, leg work, some ab work, stretching and of course, a warm up. The instructor is great, not annoying at all, and the other girls are good to watch for form and are not annoying, either. The workout is 30 minutes long. I definitely recommend, especially for such a low price. A DVD and resistance cord for $10.99? Works for me!
Also, it says if this is your first time doing this workout not to do it with the cord until you master the movements. I am pretty goofy when it comes to catching onto things, but I used the cord the first time and I was fine. She does the transitions fairly quickly, so you may have to rewind a couple times until you figure out what she's doing, but once you figure it out, you're good to go.

Band and DVD are both wonderful! Great buy. Aug 13, 2007
By Teetee I wanted a resistance cord and went out to get one of these from Dick's Sporting Goods (Full price + tax, dope! should have checked amazon.com first). It was the cheapest one in store but after comparing it to the other $30 cord, I saw no different and decided to pick this one up.
The cord is well made. The gribs are comfortable! I use this cord all the time now with or without the DVD. I like to wrap it around my chair (with back rest) and work out my arms (pulling the cord frontward like you would do with weight machine) while taking a short break from computer screen at work.
I didn't need the "The Firm Fat-Burning Cardio Toning" DVD (30 mins) that came with the cord I gave it a try. Turned out to be a very FUN work out that I'm planning to do over and over again! The instructor is great, she's giving very clear instruction, going at a very good pace and encouraging. Those back up girls in the DVD are cute too :) Love their smiles.

I've Seen Better Jun 14, 2007

As an avid Pilates user, I have seen MANY Pilates books, and videos over the years, nothing prepared for the sloppiness I encountered during the viewing of this video. Allison, although a great aerobics instructor with The Firm, is obviously NOT certified in Pilates! Clearly, many of the moves on the video were done incorrectly! One girl was wobbling back and forth when she should be holding still. The breathing was all wrong too! She had you breathing through your mouth, when anyone who has practiced Pilates knows you need to breath through you NOSE! The pace of the video was way too fast for a beginner! She has you shooting from one exercise to another before you can get out of the original position you were in. I gave this workout 1 star because they didn't have the option for 1/2 stars. This workout is do bad that I don't want to give it a whole star!

Great Workout Feb 06, 2007

I like this workout. I have a lot of firm dvds and I like that you can squeeze resistance training in a short amount of time. I pair this workout with a cardio one or do it alone on a lazy day. This workout is not formatted like the traditional firm dvds the only person who will look familier is Ali. The only thing you will need are the cords that come with the dvd.
